As the decade is coming to an end, I would like to share some of my favorite memories and how they have changed me.

When I was little, I played many different sports. I tried to dance, soccer, swim, and gymnastics. However, there was one sport that stuck with me, basketball. I started playing basketball when I was 7 in 2011. I began by going to little clinics where they taught the basic skills, and I instantly fell in love with it. Ever since then, my life has been wrapped around the sport. In second grade, I was put on an official team who I still play with today. Then, in third grade, I joined another more competitive team. I met some of my best friends through those teams. I’m currently on my high school basketball team, and I’m having so much fun. I have had many injuries, but my teammates are always there to lift me back up. Basketball has taught me to be determined, hardworking, teamwork, and to never give up. I have no idea what I would be like without basketball, I don’t know how I would be today. It has changed me in many ways and has made me a stronger person.

Another memory that has changed me this decade is entering high school. Freshman year was quite an experience. On the first day, I was very nervous and scared, but excited. I was timid at the time and did not speak that much. However, I was able to make some new friends and join the basketball team. Freshman year has been one of the most memorable years of high school so far. Ever since then, I have become more sociable, outgoing, and organized. Sophomore year I joined some volunteer clubs, and I started to enjoy helping out my community. I’m currently a junior, and it has been one of my hardest years. My classes have become more difficult, and my schedule has been impacted. However, I’m really enjoying it. I got my license, so I’m able to hang out with my friends more often. High school, so far, has taught me to be more independent, sociable, and responsible. I have experienced many things throughout the decade, but they have all shaped me into the person I am today.

In 10 years, I will be about 26 years old. I want to have a stable job as an engineer and have a healthy relationship. I hope that I will be traveling the world and experiencing new cultures. Hopefully, I have already seen Japan, which is the top place that I would like to visit. I want to be living on my own, maybe in another state, so I can learn how to take care of myself and be more independent. I see myself as someone who has become more confident, independent, and mature. I hope that I make sure to meet all my longterm goals and have a stable and healthy life.
