Thanksgiving Buffet

Happy Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving is about celebrating your gratefulness for your family, friends, and everyone in your life. This year I celebrated Thanksgiving with my family and friends. I ate plenty of food and had a food coma at the end of the day.

I first celebrated with my mom’s side of the family for lunch. We had a variety of foods, from traditional turkey to amazing Filipino dishes. My favorite was the baked salmon made by my Aunt. It had mayonnaise, salt, pepper, and onions on top that made it sweet and savory. I also ate it with some rice to help balance out the explosion of flavors in my mouth. Another dish that I really enjoyed was the Pancit. It is a Filipino stir-fried noodle dish that includes meat, vegetables, topped with boiled eggs. It has a distinct taste that is hard to describe, but you’ll be amazed once you try it.

For dinner, I went to my uncle’s house to celebrate with my dad’s side of the family. We had a traditional Thanksgiving-style meal with turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and pie. The turkey was my favorite part. My uncle spent all day cooking it, and it was delicious. I enjoyed eating the dark meat because it was softer and had more flavor. I also loved the mashed potatoes, and I like to add salt and pepper instead of gravy. The pumpkin pie was the best dessert of all. It was soft and creamy while the crust was a little bit crunchy but still melted in your mouth.

Overall, this year was by far one of the best Thanksgivings. The food was some of the best I have ever tried, and I was super full by the end of the day. It was even better because I got to celebrate with the people I love. I’m thankful to all of my friends, family, and everyone in my life.
