Dim sum is a variety of small, traditional Chinese dishes that are typically served during breakfast or lunch. In most dim sum restaurants, they have servers pushing carts around with certain dishes. These places are usually very loud, and it can sometimes be difficult to find the dish you would like. However, any dish you see will be delicious, and it is a great opportunity to try different items, Dim sum has been one of my favorite kinds of food ever since I was a little kid. My favorite dishes include steamed char siu bao, shumai, and sesame balls. Here is some information on my top dishes.

Char siu bao is my all-time favorite. It can come as baked or steamed. It is filled with BBQ pork and onions, mixed with a sauce made of soy sauce, oyster sauce, and other special ingredients. This dish is best to eat when it’s hot. When you take a bite, the pork comes oozing out, and it tastes sweet, with a hint of saltiness, and the bun helps balance out the flavor.

Shumai is one of the most popular dishes and a must-have. It is a delicious, small dumpling filled with grounded pork, wrapped in floured skin. The dumpling is cooked over steam in a bamboo container and is served steaming hot. The flavor is amazing, with the juices from the pork fat and the seasoning of the filling.

Sesame balls are the best dim sum dish to have as dessert. They are filled with either red bean or lotus paste and wrapped in a glutinous dough, topped with sesame seeds. The balls are then deep-fried and ready to eat. The outside is crispy and chewy while the inside is soft and sweet. It tastes best when it is hot and served straight out of the deep fryer.
These dishes are just a few of the numerous dim sum items. Dim sum has a wide variety of delicious items that are worth a try. If you ever decide to try dim sum, I suggest going to a Chinatown to receive the authentic and traditional experience.
